The three men charged with the murder of Ahmaud Arbery have been found guilty. The 3 men had chased Arbery down while he was taking a jog through what turned out to be the wrong neighborhood in Glynn County Georgia.

Justice was truly served today, Nov. 24, 2021. Travis McMichael, the son of co-murderer Gregory McMichael, was found guilty of malice murder, which is the top murder charge. The Associated Press has reported that based on the charges, the three men all face minimum sentences of life in prison. The judge will decide whether that comes with or without the possibility of parole.

Each defendant has now also been indicted on separate federal hate crime charges. Among the charges were interference with rights and attempted kidnapping. The McMichaels, Travis and Gregory, were charged with using, carrying, brandishing and discharging a firearm during and in relation to a crime of violence.

The McMichaels’ and William “Roddie” Bryan Jr., the third defendant, all pleaded not guilty to the federal charges.

The federal trial is scheduled for February 2022, the same month Arbery was hunted down and killed in 2020. No federal bond hearing has been set as of yet, but if convicted on the federal charges, all three men could face life in prison.
