Who are some of the partners?

Some of our partnership activations include TMCF, UNCF, National Urban League, HBCU Buzz, and more. We’ve brought our night to arenas, hosting and celebrating at NBA games, other sports franchises, and have done a tour to Google offices as well.

HBCU Night hosts an Ambitions As A Writer panel series. Tell us about the impact of these nights.

These nights are so important because the events are curated to empower and uplift the voices of Black women HBCU Alum. Black women have carried the journalism field throughout our history and I think it’s a modern approach to highlighting and celebrating much deserved talented writers. There are always aspiring writers in the crowds who have always left with new perspectives, advice, and mentor relationships. It’s all about creating a space for these HBCU Alum Black women to share their stories and inspire.

This year HBCU Night also became a published book. What are the hopeful takeaways from this story?

Every direct testimony from my supporting readers and families means the world to me. I hope families get some fun moments with laughter. I also hope our readers learn how impactful and inspirational HBCUs are as they are in their early years of evolving their minds. I’m confident the storyline of “HBCU Night” can provide the inspiration and self-efficacy the youth needs.
