Martina Marie is not Megan Thee Stallion, and that’s OK

“I just feel like they’re going to do that to anybody, even somebody after me,” Marie said. “Or, they might try to compare these next artists to me, you know what I’m saying? I just don’t pay attention to it. Because I’m not a comparison type of person. Everybody’s different, and people gravitate towards you, for whatever reason, they gravitate toward you. Me and her are absolutely nothing alike. She’s dope, though.”

The comparison between the two artists heated up when Marie posted a bikini picture of herself on Dec. 18, 2021. The caption read, “It’s still giving Martina Snow. So umm yeah …. REAL WINTERBABY S—.” Tina Snow is one of Megan’s nicknames, and “real hot girl s—” is one of her catchphrases. Marie said the caption was just a play on her birth name “Martina” and nothing more.

Regardless, Marie began rapping in 2016, and Crawford has shifted her focus to R&B since signing her.

“My goal is to really bring R&B, hip-hop vibes,” Marie said. “I want that trap R&B. That’s what I like. Something that will make the dudes’ heads move, too. Not just the females.”

Some of her dream collaborations are SZA, Queen Naija, Moneybagg Yo, Jhene Aiko and Doja Cat.
