Atlanta infant shot to death defines pain city’s mayor hopes to change

Dequasie Little, 22, was arrested in Decatur, Georgia, and has been charged with felony murder and aggravated assault with the intent to murder. Other suspects may be arrested as well, and tips from the community helped lead to the arrest, Bryant said.

“They worked 24 hours, nonstop until they resolved this issue,” Dickens said, according to WSB. “And now a suspect is under arrest. They worked through the night and through the day about this child, as if this child was their own because indeed, every child in this city is our own.”

Fleming-Gray’s family set up a fundraiser to handle funeral expenses here.

“As you can imagine, this is any parent’s worst nightmare,” the fundraiser background reads. “Grayson was an incredibly joyous baby with an infectious smile who was deeply loved by all.”

Dickens, Atlanta’s 61st mayor, reemphasized how much the homicide bothered him.

“Grayson Fleming-Gray did not deserve to die,” he said. “Let that sink in. You share that throughout this whole community.”
