Actor Roger Mosley, who soared to fame in the role of helicopter pilot Theodore “TC” Calvin in the hit TV series “Magnum P.I.,” has died. He was 83.

Mosley was involved in a tragic car crash last week that had left him paralyzed from the shoulders down. He never improved from being in critical condition at the local hospital, according to “Today.”

One of Mosley’s daughters, Ch-a Mosley, announced his death in a Facebook post.

“We could never mourn such an amazing man. He would HATE any crying done in his name. It is time to celebrate the legacy he left for us all,” his daughter said as she announced his death. “I love you daddy. You loved me too. My heart is heavy but I am strong. I will care for mommy, your love of almost 60 years. You raised me well and she is in good hands. Rest easy.”

After becoming a known Hollywood commodity in the eight years that “Magnum P.I.” thrived in prime time in the 1980s, Mosley also appeared in “Sanford and Son,” “Love Boat,” “Kojak,” “The Rockford Files,” “Starsky and Hutch” and dozens of other TV series in the 1970s and ’80s, according to his profile.

In the ’90s, Mosley played the role of Coach Ricketts in the hit sitcom “Hangin’ with Mr. Cooper.” He also returned to his source of fame when he made appearances on the “Magnum P.I.” reboot, this time in the role of John Booky.
