Megan Thee Stallion was on Hillary Clinton’s and her daughter Chelsea’s new show “Gutsy,” and spoke about the song “WAP” featuring Cardi B.

While the three women were sitting and painting canvases, Clinton says that she started following Megan when the song came out in 2o2o.

In an interview with PEOPLE prior to the show’s debut, Clinton shared what she thought about the song when she first heard it.

“I didn’t know what to think, because I’m of a much different generation,” Clinton said. “But I admired the audacity and the kind of agency that both of those women were exhibiting.”

When the song was released it received much criticism, and it gained mixed reviews regarding how female artists are held to different standards than men in the music industry, especially when it comes to explicit, sexual content.

On “Gutsy,” Megan explained her thoughts on making the song.

“I’ve always wanted to do a song with [Cardi B] so as soon as she sent me the song, I think I sent it back to her the next day,” Megan said. “It was just so exciting. Men seem so confident in what they’re saying and they don’t have no problem with talking about their sexuality and how they’re going to have sex with you. So I was like ‘I could do that, and it’s going to be fire.'”

Chelsea then responded by saying “It’s great to see women be so kind of fierce.”

“That is my life’s mission,” Megan said. “To make sure that I’m always unapologetically me.”
