Serena Williams is either teasing her fans or has something up her sleeve when it comes to returning to the courts for more tennis play.

On a Sept. 13 episode of “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” Williams was asked if there was any chance that she could return to playing tennis.

“There’s no chance of you pulling a Tom Brady and saying ‘Maybe I’m evolving to coming back,’ ” Fallon asked.

Williams responded, “You know what? Tom Brady started an amazing trend. That’s what I want to say.”

That seemed like a big joke at the beginning, but during another recent interview, Williams continued to leave the door open for her returning to the game.

During an interview at TechCrunch Disrupt, Williams said she is “not retired,” but also followed that up with another joke.

“The chances of me returning are very high,” Williams said. “You can come to my house, I got a court. I got you.”

Williams also says she hasn’t thought about retirement, and a recent experience on the court made her feel weird since she wasn’t playing competitively.

“It was like the first day of the rest of my life, and so far, I’m enjoying it,” Williams said. “But I’m still trying to find that balance.”
