We’re finally getting our first look at Trevor Noah’s upcoming fourth Netflix stand-up special, “Where Was I.”

Recorded at Detroit’s Fox Theatre during Noah’s yearlong North American leg of his Off the Record tour, the David Paul Meyer-directed special finds the comedian sharing “his hilarious experiences from his recent travels around the world, ranging from foreign national anthems to varying cultural norms,” says the logline.

In one funny bit from the trailer, Noah rehashes an incident where he lost his luggage in Paris and had to contend with a language barrier between he and a rambling French translator who was trying to help him.

“Let’s try French,” Noah cracks after not being able to make out the translator’s broken English. “Let’s see what happens.”

Despite being a week away from release, the special, for which Noah was a co-executive producer, has already been nominated for a 2024 Golden Globe Award in the newly created category Best Performance in Stand-Up Comedy on Television.

Trevor Noah: “Where Was I” premieres on Netflix on Dec. 19.
