Comedians Chris Tucker and DC Young Fly celebrated the life and legacy of the late Michael Jackson on Aug. 29, on what would have been his 66th birthday, according to Complex. The duo attended the 2024 Chris Tucker Foundation Celebrity Golf Tournament held in Atlanta, where they brought the spirit of the King of Pop to life.

During the event, Jackson’s iconic 1979 hit “Rock With You” filled the air, prompting Tucker and Fly to dance and sing along, delighting onlookers.

“Had a great time this week at the MY foundation golf tournament! Me and DC Young Fly dancing to ROCK WITH YOU!! Happy birthday MJ!!!🙏🏾😀⛳️🏌🏽” Tucker captioned, sharing the joyous moment on his Instagram.

The bond between Tucker and Jackson

The friendship between Chris Tucker and Michael Jackson blossomed in the early 2000s when Tucker appeared in Jackson’s music video for “You Rock My World.” Their connection deepened when Tucker joined Jackson and Usher for a live performance during Jackson’s 30th anniversary celebration in 2001.

In an April 2023 interview with GQ, Tucker recounted a memorable moment when he was eager to meet Jackson for the first time. After waiting two days in New York, he decided to return to Los Angeles. Just as he landed, he received a message that Jackson wanted to meet him the next morning.

“I went up to the captain and said, ‘I’ll pay you whatever you want to take me back to New York,’ ” Tucker humorously recalled.

Friendship with DC Young Fly

Tucker and Fly have also developed a strong friendship over the years. Fly has expressed interest in collaborating with Tucker, suggesting that he would return to the Friday franchise if he could play Tucker’s son.

The pair’s heartfelt tribute to Jackson showcases the lasting impact of his legacy and the bonds formed through shared experiences in the entertainment industry.
