“Only the [homeowner association] has vetoed a lot of stuff,” the 28-year-old gymnast and the NFL star are preparing to move into their new property in Texas, and Simone has revealed that they’ve been working diligently on the project. Asked if either of them have vetoed any design ideas, Simone told People: “But other than that, I mean, I think we’ve done a good collab of what we wanted our house to look like. So hopefully we’ll be able to move in soon.” The couple has been working with a renowned interior designer to help bring their vision to life.
Simone and Jonathan, 29, were actually supposed to move into their new home before the Paris Olympics in 2024. But now, Simone is hopeful that they won’t have to wait much longer. The construction process has faced several delays due to various factors affecting the building industry.
“We were supposed to be in before the Olympics, and unfortunately that wasn’t the case. So we’re just waiting for the weather to die down. We’re just … we’ll see,” she said. Texas has experienced unusual weather patterns that have affected construction timelines throughout the region.
Simone and Jonathan tied the knot in 2023, and the Olympian previously confessed to being stunned by her husband’s outfit on their wedding day. Their wedding was attended by family, friends, and several notable athletes from both gymnastics and football.
“For the wedding day, he actually didn’t show me his tux or his groomsmen,” Simone told E! News. The couple opted for a traditional approach of keeping certain elements secret until the ceremony itself.
“I wasn’t allowed to see until I walked down the aisle, same as him. They weren’t wearing the correct colors I told him to, but it worked out. It looked beautiful. Whenever we got on the side, I was like, ‘What are they wearing?!'” Their wedding photos later captured attention for their stunning aesthetics and genuine emotional moments.
Although Jonathan ignored her advice, Simone was still impressed by his sense of style. The couple has often been praised for their complementary fashion sense at public events.
“Don’t flame my husband, please! It’s not that he didn’t listen to me on the wedding day for the outfit. I know y’all love to blame him, but it was a good choice,” the sports star stressed. Their wedding has been featured in several major publications for its elegant design and heartfelt moments.
