Chicago based emcee Chance The Rapper is putting together a free concert for teens at the city’s Northerly Island venue.

The concert, being called the Teens In The Park fest, will take place Wednesday, June 24, 4-7 p.m. It features acts selected by the “Surf” rapper. The event is being sponsored by the City of Chicago and will be open for guests ages 13-24.

Festival organizers are expecting over 5,000 young people to attend the event, which is being presented by Chicago City of Learning, the Chicago Park District, and Mayor Rahm Emmanuel.

“The Chicago Park District is so excited to come together with other essential Chicago youth-centered organizations to create an event featuring local musical artists and experiential learning for teens,” said Chicago Park District Director of Marketing Michelle Geddes. “It’s this type of collaboration that shows teens the wide variety of exciting opportunities that exist in our great city.”

Also participating in the event will be Chicago’s famed Art Institute and Donda’s House, which will sponsor activities within the one day festival such as breakdancing, graffiti and jewelry making.

Though a free event, attendees must register at ticketmaster.com
