Actress Terri Vaughn Uses Her Gift to Help Aspiring Actors

As many are aware, NAACP Image Award-winning actress Terri Vaughn has added film executive to her list of credits. Recently, she joined Studio 11 Films as a mentor to assist emerging actors, writers and producers with the 11Eleven11 Project’s film Boost of Love.

In 2005, Terri co-founded Nina Holiday, a full service production, advertising and entertainment company, in collaboration with costumer and TV/film writer and producer Cas Sigers-Beedles. In 2011, Terri opened the Green Room, a coffee lounge and specialty bookstore that serves as a venue for rising and seasoned actors and musicians in Atlanta’s upscale Buckhead community. It’s a place where hopefuls are looking for their next big opportunity and fertile ground for the experts in the industry to recruit talent for projects and even to unwind.


Running her own businesses and nurturing inexperienced actors, Terri undoubtedly living her dream. Here, the wife and mother chats it up with rolling out. –yvette caslin

What drew you to this project?
I loved the script as a whole. The characters were hilarious!

Why do you mentor?
I’m a mentor to many; it feels like it is what I’m supposed to do as a person.

What is the ideal mentor/student relationship?
Having a genuine relationship

I pretty much have a free style.

How do you show others that you believe in them?
By listening and being transparent about my journey.

Who has influenced you the most?
My mother

How do you guide your student to approach the unknown?
By stepping out on faith, trusting themselves [and] what God has placed them in this position for.
