Tamar Braxton is known for “keeping it real,” even when it comes to her family and love life. After sharing some interesting news about the realities of being a mother, she is now telling the world that her husband, Vince Herbert, preferred white women before he dated her.

According to Sister 2 Sister, Braxton made the random and peculiar revelation during yesterday’s premiere of her new talk show, “The Real,” while chatting with her co-hosts Tamera Mowry-Housley, Loni Love, Jeannie Mai and Adrienne Bailon.

“Vince used to like White girls before me. Blue eyes, blond hair, the whole shebang,” Braxton shared with her “The Real” ladies.

The “Braxton Family Values” star also joked that his love for blonde-haired, blue-eyed girls is also the reason why she’s wearing blonde wigs now. “I’m covering all bases,” she laughed.

Although it’s likely that Braxton meant for her comments to come off as light-hearted jokes, we can’t shake the feeling that perhaps they may come off as cringe worthy to some. Considering the outrage that many in the black community still feel over interracial dating, of colorism and black hair, both of which have been cause for controversy when it Braxton’s skin tone – which is caused by vitiligo – and her comments on black hair.

But hey, she and Herbert seem like a happy couple and he clearly has no problem dating or marrying black women.
