Tameka Raymond Issues Statement on Son's Death, Usher Custody Battle

After weeks of remaining virtually silent except for requests for prayers on social networks, Tameka Raymond is issuing a heartfelt statement on her late son Kile Glover. As previously reported the 11-year-old that caused a media storm after he was injured during a jet ski accident, was buried July 27 during a terribly sad funeral service. Since then, Raymond’s been adamant that she will fight to have more strenuous water safety laws enforced.

Early Friday, Aug.3, the grieving mother took to Twitter to finally release a full statement on the tragedy that’s plagued her in recent weeks. The tweet provided a link to an open letter on her behalf.

“To begin, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the countless number of people who opened their hearts, extended their prayers, well-wishes and remained hopeful for my son Kile during the last weeks of his life,” wrote Raymond. “I truly believe that he has always been an Angel from birth and the world was just too small to contain a spirit so vast. I’m thankful and blessed to merely be the vessel that carried him, and humbled that God gave him to us to love. I also feel humbled by everyone’s show of concern, and knowing that Kile Glover touched the lives of so many, has given me strength during my worst and darkest hour … Again I THANK YOU ALL”

Tameka later went on to speak on the child custody battle that’s unfortunately still ongoing between her and her ex, Usher Raymond. As previously reported, court documents allegedly showed that Tameka had doubts about the singer’s sympathy for her son considering he only visited him in the hospital once when he was ill. The pair are expected to face off in court
