Healing Arts Chicago Summer Celebrationย An Arts x Health x Wellness Summit
Free and Open to the Public (with registration)
On July 27, 2024, Healing Arts Chicago will host a city-wide creative summit and celebration featuring artists, community and health organizations, and other stakeholders in a day of making, learning, and discussion through workshops, talks, performances, and other forms of activation. This event will also include a workforce dimension highlighting the versatility of the community health worker role and demonstrating ways creative workers can benefit from this training while infusing health and wellness with artistic ways of knowing.
This participatory public event will accomplish several goals that embody the ongoing arts and health work of the pilot including:
- Creating a memorable, intergenerational arts-based experience for all participants
- Demonstrating the importance of community health workers as an advocate for arts in community health
- Amplifying and learnings from the Chicago Arts & Health Pilot/Healing Arts Chicago
- Highlighting the intergovernmental collaboration between the Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events (DCASE), the Chicago Department of Public Health (CDPH), and the City Colleges of Chicago
- Telling the stories of impact, innovation, and future possibilities for integrating arts, health, and healing within community and public health
