Summary: This training will include lead abatement procedures including site preparation, contract planning, project management, implementation and record keeping. A certified Supervisor can perform all of the duties that a Lead Worker can, and additionally a Supervisor is responsible for occupant safety during the abatement process and for writing the abatement plan.
Prerequisite:ย Students for the PA Lead Supervisor Certificate Class must show that they have experience prior to taking this class. They need either a) one year as a certified abatement worker; or b) two yearsโ experience in construction or a related field. Description:ย The January 22, 23, 24 and 25 Free Lead Supervisor Certification Class is a four-day in-person class which leads to PA Lead Supervisor Certification.
This training provides information on lead-based paint abatement and regulatory guidelines for persons that will plan and/or oversee lead abatement work.
Abatement supervisors may supervise abatement projects and prepare occupant protection plans and abatement reports. Supervisors may also perform all of the abatement activities that may be performed by abatement workers.
Participants must notarize and submit the PA Form LIBI-615L โVerification of Experience Formโ prior to class, showing that they have either one-year as a certified lead abatement worker; or two yearsโ experience in construction or a related field. This class is designed to increase the number of certified PA Lead Supervisors in Montgomery County and regionally. Preference will be given to those who have the capacity to work in Montgomery County and persons who are based in Montgomery County. Employers who work in Montgomery County are encouraged to sign up team members to increase your capacity to do Lead Hazard Control work.
Students will take an exam at the end of the four-day class. Students who pass this exam will still need to take the EPA virtual exam, which is administered by the Pennsylvania Department of Licensing and Inspections (L&I). To be scheduled for the EPA virtual exam, students need to send to L&I the following:

โข Class Certificate
โข Application for EPA Virtual Exam (use Spanish Application if you want to take the class in Spanish) LIBI-622L
โข A check or money order for the EPA test fee which is currently $136.41 for the Lead Supervisor training
Once everything is received, the Pennsylvania L&I will contact applicant to schedule the virtual exam. Note: If the Spanish version of the test application is submitted, students will automatically get the virtual test in Spanish.

There are limited spaces available. There will be a break for lunch between 12:00 and 1:00. Lunch will not be provided. Participants can bring lunch or go to a local WaWa or other location to purchase lunch.
