The Smithsonian Academy Orchestra presents works by Haydn and Beethoven on period instruments at The NMNH’s Baird Auditorium on Saturday, October 12th at 7pm. Conducted by Kenneth Slowik, the SAO showcases a world-class ensemble of the countryโs top young period specialists. Through the Smithsonian, the Academies bring together these talented musicians to explore challenging programs throughout the year on replicas of the instruments the composers would have written for. Let us transport you back in time to experience this repertoire as audiences would have heard it at the turn of the 19th century!
