Beyoncé caused an uproar after the release of her new song, “Bow Down/I Been On.” She sings, “I know when you were little girls, you dreamed of being in my world, don’t forget it, don’t forget it Respect that, bow down, b—–s.”

Beyoncé will move beyond this moment, but the song is a bit out of character for her.
