As the Super Bowl draws near, more events are being planned. With this year’s big game being held at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ, which is just a hop, skip, and a jump from NYC, the possibilities are endless.

Among the many options for fans who plan to be in the area, VH1 presents a daily concert in each of NYC’s five boroughs and in New Jersey leading up to the big day. The concerts will include artists from various genres including J. Cole, Janelle Monae, and TLC in addition to Goo Goo Dolls, Gavin DeGraw, and Fall Out Boy. The concerts will air on VH1 and also stream via their mobile app and on the website Superbowl.VH1.com

People interested in attending the shows should know that there is a limited amount of tickets available for sale, but VH1 plans to give tickets away via a Twitter contest. Beginning Monday 1/13, fans must follow them at @VH1 and look for tweets containing times and locations in NYC where Iggy The Penguin, the Super Bowl Blitz mascot, will be. After taking a picture with Iggy, fans must hashtag their pic with #VH1Blitz for a chance to win tickets.

1/28 – Janelle Monae / Lehman College / The Bronx, NY
