Hip-hop mogul Master P is offering to help a homeless family in the wake of the tragic murder of their 12-year old son. Ray Etheridge was murdered in Louisville, Kentucky, on Oct. 2. He was a homeless boy living with his family. WLKY reports that P, born Percy Miller, has volunteered to cover the funeral costs for the boy.

The Etheridge family is homeless and had been seen often outside a local mall. Ray reportedly wandered away from the rest of his family and footage surfaced of Etheridge with another homeless person, 21-year old Joseph Cambron. He was with Cambron just before the incident, and Etheridge’s body was discovered around 4:30 p.m. by a runner in a local park. Police arrested Cambron for Ray Etheridge’s murder.

“I don’t know who this guy is,” said Ronald Etheridge, Ray’s father. “Being 21-years-old and my son being 12, he had no business to even be around my son.”

Homicide Unit Lt. Todd Kessinger reportedly told WLKY that Ray and Cambron knew one another and got into a fight before Cambron stabbed Etheridge. Cambron was also recently acquitted of sexual abuse in a case that involved charges he’d abused a 6-year-old girl.

“We were able to put some information together, they did know each other from that area for a few weeks,” Kessinger said.

Cambron reportedly admitted to having rage issues.

“I’ve probably caused more damage to myself than I had anyone else,” Cambron told police during the interview. “I don’t know. I try to bottle it up so I don’t hit someone else.”

Along with Master P’s contribution, donations for a headstone can be made to the Ray Allen Etheridge Memorial Fund at a PNC Bank branch in Louisville.
