On Monday, Sept. 22, Hollywood celebrated the Jimi Hendrix biopic, Jimi: All Is By My Side starring André 3000 with a special screening of the film.
In attendance were cast member André “3000” Benjamin (OutKast); director and writer John Ridley (writer, 12 Years a Slave); composer Danny Bramson (music producer, Jerry Maguire, Almost Famous); producer Brandon Freeman; and composer and guitarist Waddy Wachtel.
Special guests included: musicians Steven Tyler, Gary Clark Jr., Wiz Khalifa, Andra Day, Mayer Hawthorne; and actors Adam Sandler, Stephen C. Bishop, Ming-Na Wen, Blair Underwood, Nia Long, Mario Van Peebles, Mandela Van Peebles, Marley Van Peebles, Heath Freeman, Kelly Monaco, Adrian Lester, Sammi Rotibi and Lauren Tom.
Guests celebrated post-screening at an intimate cocktail party at Los Balcones in Hollywood.
Jimi: All Is By My Side opened in select theaters Friday, Sept. 26. –j.k. mcduffie
