History
Established in 2012.
It all began when a Jamaican gent named Ernest Hall (Kingston, Jamaica) met a Southern lady named Vicki Newsum (Memphis, TN) in Brooklyn, New York. One thing led to another, and the next thing you know, they were married with kids! Ernest and Vicki started cooking up a bunch of flavors together and found delicious compliments blending Jamaican and Southern style cooking. Both cultures enjoy vibrant flavors that good right out of the pot, and a fusion of the two made for some soulfully delicious dishes. Those flavors, combined with a very personal touch of hospitality and the recipe of love, food, music, and soul made for the grand dream of opening a Jamaican and Southern restaurant together. Evelyn & Olive opened in 2012 and the rest, as they say, is history!
