Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquaio Continue Blame Game

Floyd Mayweather vs. Manny Pacquaio is the most anticipated boxing match this decade. However, the fight probably won’t occur in 2012. Mayweather and Pacquiao have danced around the possibility of meeting in the ring for years.

Their bickering continued after Mayweather, who was sentenced to 90 days in jail for domestic assault,  was able to convince a judge to move his sentence to June so that he could participate in the prizefight.

But after Pacquaio’s promoter, Bob Arum, suggested that Mayweather would not offer a 50-0 split of the fight revenue,  both sides decided to schedule other opponents.

Mayweather will now fight Miguel Cotto on May 5. Cotto, 31, is a bruising fighter who can give Mayweather fits in the ring. However, Cotto does not have the skill or star power of Pacquaio. It’s a small consolation for fans who will continue to yearn for the best pugilists on the planet to stop running from each other and fight. –amir shaw
