Apollo Nida dishes on federal indictment, marriage to Phaedra Parks

Apollo Nida is finally speaking out on the federal case against him and admitting that he’s not 100 percent positive that his marriage to Phaedra Parks will last. As previously reported, Gayla St. Julien, the woman who told authorities she was his accomplice in a bank fraud scheme, was recently sentenced to five years in jail. Now as he continues to iron out a plea deal with prosecutors, Nida has given a risky interview to Sister2Sister  about the case, as well as his previous incarceration.

“I don’t really get nervous. And this is not just boasting or bragging,” said Nida when asked about his upcoming court date. According to Sister2Sister, he too could get the same fate as St. Julien and be sentenced to a minimum of five years.

“Phaedra – I’m sure she’s nervous because at the end of the day, I’m putting my career in jeopardy,” he added.

He also told Sister2Sister’s editor Jamie Foster Brown that he and his wife may have “lost sight” of why they wed. He also confessed that he’s unsure if they’ll stay married or end their union because the “reality fiasco,” and not his alleged identity theft ring, might be putting a strain on their relationship.

“I really admired everything that she did as a woman,” said Nida about his “Real Housewife” wife. “I think that we have lost sight of the true picture, which is that we did take an oath to God and we did build a family and a brand.”

“Whatever has come of this reality fiasco, we have had two beautiful children, and at the end of the day, I only wish her the best,” he added.

“I can’t say if it’s going to last. But I hope that it does … I definitely love her. I’ve grown to love her more.”

Rumors have been swirling for months that Parks and Nida were heading towards divorce. In February, fans accused him of cheating after noting that on Valentine’s Day, instead of spending time with his wife and the mother of his two children, Nida was partying in Charlotte, N.C., and posing for risque pictures with fans. Following that, a report surfaced that the pair was living separately.

Most recently Parks told Andy Cohen on “Watch What Happens Live” that she’s sticking by her husband — at least until his case is resolved.

“Hell no [I won’t represent him in court],” said Parks. “I will support him until this is resolved. No, I have not filed for divorce, I am still very married,” she added flashing her wedding ring.

When asked if it was a difficult time for her family she added, “Of course it is. But we are where we are and we’ll support him. We are a family. He’s the father of my two beautiful kids and at the end of the day, I am a Southern belle and I believe in family and I will support him until this is resolved.”

Nida’s full interview will be published in the May 2014 issue of Sister 2 Sister.
