RN Carmen Johnson details the trauma nurses are facing during the pandemic

When you see people fighting for their lives from Coronavirus and then you see people who aren’t staying in place what does that say to you?

It says they’re misinformed. They’re in denial, or refusal because they’ve been warned. You have different people that are in denial or refusal to accept this reality for different reasons. You have a mega contingency who wants to believe that we need to get out and get the economy going and that it’s not really that bad. That’s a particular level of denial. Then you have the other group who thinks that there’s no such thing as Coronavirus and it’s all a hoax. That’s an African American community as well. It’s just a phenomenal level of denial. My response to the ones who confront me with these theories is that they are a danger to themselves and others.
