Michael Jackson Died Three Years Ago Today
Three years ago today the world suffered a huge loss when the King of Pop suddenly passed away. Michael Joseph Jackson, 50, died June 25, 2009 after suffering respiratory arrest at his home Holmby Hills Los Angeles home. The iconic singer’s doctor Conrad Murray has since been charged and convicted of involuntary manslaughter for administering a lethal combination of Propofol and other sedatives to the singer. He received a four-year sentence and is currently behind bars.
Since his passing, Jackson’s family has announced a Jacksons tour that will feature his brothers Randy, Tito, Marlon and Jermaine. The quartet is said to celebrate Michael’s legacy through a medley that includes the track “Gone Too Soon.” Before this year’s tour, Jackson was remembered at a 2011 tribute concert in Cardiff, Wales that featured Ne-yo, Cee Lo Green, Christina Aguilera, Jamie Foxx, Gladys Knight and Smokey Robinson. Michael’s iconic dance moves, and endless hits also helped to inspire Cirque De Soleil’s Immortal World Tour show which is traveling across the country.
Jackson’s only daughter has also publicly remembered her late father. On Wednesday Paris Jackson uploaded a picture of her late Father kissing her mother Debbie Rowe. “Mommy and Daddy,” the teen put as a caption for the picture. “RIP Michael Jackson .. Dad you will forever be in my heart <3 i love you,” Paris later tweeted this morning.
Jackson remains the most successful entertainer of all time to this day. Arguably more memorable than his songs that continue to make us dance and attempt his signature ‘moonwalk,’ are the colorful outfits Jackson was known to don.
