Tagg Romney Says He Wanted to ‘Take a Swing’ at Obama

After Tuesday’s fiery face-off between President Obama and Mitt Romney, the two candidates apparently weren’t the only ones feeling hot under the collar. Tagg Romney, the eldest son of the GOP nominee, called in to a North Carolina radio station after his father and the president squared off during the latest debate and he was asked how he feels when Obama accuses his father of being “a liar.”

“[You want to] jump out of your seat and you want to rush down to the debate stage and take a swing at him,” said the Republican with a laugh. “But you know you can’t do that because, well, first because there’s a lot of Secret Service between you and him, but also because this is the nature of the process. They’re gonna try to do everything they can do to try to make my dad into someone he’s not.”

His response has since sparked outrage on social media, especially Twitter, where fierce Obama supporters didn’t take his statement too lightly.

Ouch.

Tagg later said in the interview that his father is “terrified” before he goes out on stage but backtracked to say, “Terrified’s too strong a word. But you know, he’s like anybody — he gets butterflies a little bit. And then once he’s in it, two or three minutes, he’s forgotten about the nervousness.”

According to Obama supporters however, clearly the wrong Romney is terrified. -danielle canada
