It’s a wrap for Stevie Wonder and second wife Kai Millard Morris. On Monday, the singer’s divorce was finalized by a Los Angeles judge, reports People. But it did’t come without a price. According to the settlement, the couple will share custody of their children, Kailand Morris and Mandla Kadjay Carl Stevland Morris, ages 14 and 10. However, the Grammy Award winner has been ordered to fork over $25K a month in child support.
In addition to joint custody, Wonder can take the kids on the road when he tours on a limited basis. Instead of a signature, Wonder used his thumbprint to sign off on the settlement. In other words, it’s signed, sealed, and delivered.
“Today Stevland Morris filed for divorce, ending his marriage to Kai Millard Morris. As this is a private and personal matter, he asks that the public and the media kindly respect the privacy of Kai, his children, and family at this time,” a rep told E! News following the report.
Wonder and Morris married in 2001. In 2009, Wonder separated from Millard Morris and subsequently filed for divorce in 2012. In total, the singer has nine children — ranging from age 40 to 10 months — with five different women. In Dec. 2014, he welcomed his youngest child, Nia, into the world with his now girlfriend Tomeeka Robyn Bracy. Wonder was previously married to Syreeta Wright from 1970 to 1972.
