What is your skin care routine?

I keep it simple, stupid. I love Cetaphil and Witch Hazel. I use the ROC undereye cream and POND’s moisturizer.

What are your makeup essentials?

I use MAC. My favorite makeup regiment is to put on concealer, blot powder, a little bit of bronzer, mascara and lip gloss. I prefer to not have makeup on.

Do you wear your natural hair?

I wear my natural hair a lot. My hairstylist, Dallas Christopher, sometimes puts in clips and sometimes I’ll do a little enhancement [with extensions]. I love my natural hair. I’m not a perm girl, my hair is natural outside of my color. I haven’t had a perm in over 20 years.

How do you keep your color-treated natural hair so healthy?

I don’t use other chemicals as well. When I wear my hair curly I keep leave-in condition in there. I love TRESemmé and Paul Mitchell products. I keep it conditioned and I keep my ends trimmed.

What do you want people who’ve followed you since Destiny’s Child to learn about you on “R&B Divas”?

I think everything that happened to me, happened for me. I adore everybody [in Destiny’s Child]. I get asked about the other girls a lot, I adore all of their careers. I follow them daily because I love them; we grew up together. I feel like my path happened the way that it did because it was supposed to. I am truly grateful for everything, every moment I spent with those girls.

All the adversities that I’ve gone through, I truly embrace it. I am grateful for the people I have around me now; my management team, my mother, my daughter. I’m happy with my life right now and who I am, and the only way to go is up.
