Rapper, Look What You Made Me

At
the age of 15, Yung Berg believed that he was on the verge of becoming
the next rap sensation. After creating a buzz in his hometown of
Chicago, Yung Berg was handpicked by DMX to be a member of Bloodline
Records. But after a brief stint in New Jersey, his parents shipped him
off to military school and he was forced to put his musical dreams on
hold. In 2006, Yung Berg was able to get a toehold in the rap game by
starting from scratch as Shawnna’s hype man. Now with his hit single,
“Sexy Lady,” getting major radio play across the nation, he’s finally
back where he belongs. “Being signed to DMX’s label allowed me to get a
taste of the music business,” Yung Berg says of his experience with
Bloodline Records. “It let me know what the rap game was all about.”
Upon his return from military school, Yung Berg decided to re-enter the
game as an entrepreneur instead of just being another artist. “Shawnna
is like my big sister and she allowed me to keep my face out there and
stay relevant,” he says. “But I also decided to come with Yung Boss
Productions so that I could have more control over my career this
time.” With the buzz surrounding “Sexy Lady” and the anticipation of
his debut album, Look What You Made Me, Yung Berg is hoping to have a
greater impact musically, while inspiring others to take more
responsibility when it comes to business. “With my company, I wanted to
talk to everyone and make a statement,” he says. “I’m just showing
young people that they can get in this game and become executives.” – amir shaw
