Heads Up International
Candy Dulfer might be the most refreshing artist you’ve never heard of.
She has performed with everyone from Prince and Beyoncé to Van Morrison
and Aretha Franklin. She’s also been nominated for Grammys and her
albums have sold millions of copies worldwide. In her first release
with her new label, the Amsterdam native offers a bit of smooth jazz,
hip-hop, funk and even reggae. There are a few gems on this album, but
none like the Ini Kamoze-sampled “Smokin’ Gun,” or the horn-heavy “If I
Ruled the World,” which showcases Dulfer’s range and prowess for making
music the entire world can appreciate. – gavin p. godfrey
