Vice President and Co-Owner, Javelin Technical Training Center

Since opening their doors in 2000, Javelin Technical Training Center
has equipped scores of students with training and certification. In a
time where reports are surfacing about institutions losing
accreditation due to their failure to meet federal guidelines and
accreditation standards, Javelin Tech has managed to surpass its peers
by consistently exceeding both.
“We have a reputation for being a school that provides all of the
resources necessary to go out and accomplish your particular goal,”
explains Josh Taves, the co-founder and vice president of Javelin Tech.
“For most of our students, they want to come to not just get a
certificate for the wall at home. They want to go out there and make a
salary in a particular career field. There really is a genuine caring
that goes into providing that service to students.”

Five years ago, Javelin Tech had only one location and 10 dedicated
staff members. Today, they boast three convenient locations and over
100 employees. Despite their rapid growth, Javelin Tech has stayed true
to their original principles, thrusting numerous students from menial
jobs into actual careers and self-sufficiency.

“No matter what your environment or surroundings [are] at this time,
all you need to do is simply make the decision to make a change,” says
Taves. “While it may involve a slight adjustment in lifestyle and some
possible changes in the way your habits have been, anything is
possible. By dedicating anywhere from 6 to 10 months, depending on your
program and schedule that is chosen, in that short period of sacrifice,
you really can go from being unemployed, being a single mom, [and]
having no financial support systems, to now having the confidence and
skills needed to go out there, attain the job, and thrive in the
position.” – adam jones
