Community Relations Manager, Coca-Cola Company
As the community relations manager of the Midwest for the venerable
Coca-Cola Company, Anthony Taylor is responsible for finding
opportunities for the company to be involved in the community. It’s a
task that the 20-year company veteran exults in because it marries his
personal commitment to the community with the worldwide brand’s mission
of being a good corporate citizen.
“We are glad to be in this marketplace and we want to show it, by
participating and being involved in all the different needs and
activities in the community. One of the ways we reach out to the
community is giving them a variety of beverages that could be from a
carbonated drink, water or a beverage like Powerade,” says Taylor. “We
also focus on youth development education and health awareness. Another
focus of our brand [is] environmental and signature events [like] the
Bud Billiken Parade and the Ebony Black Family Reunion.”
According to the company’s Web site, in 2006, Coca-Cola donated over
$70 million dollars to communities worldwide for education, health,
economic development, social services, culture and arts. Taylor feels
honored to represent a company that’s given back so much, especially to
his hometown.
“I was born and raised here in Chicago, [so] I thought it would be a
great opportunity to get involved in putting smiles on people’s faces.
I believe it takes hard work, dedication and determination to work in
customer service, but the thank you I receive is reward enough,” says
Taylor. – adrienne gadling
