Recording Artist, Stand Out
Gospel music just hasn’t been the same since innovative and inspirational icon Tye Tribbett and his
harmonious fleet of singers, G.A., made their mark with 2004’s Life and 2006’s Victory LIVE. With followers
of all ages whose lives have been touched through the powerful messages conveyed in his music,
Tribbett is more than happy to take on the role of spiritual leadership.
“It’s a wonderful thing to be one of the leaders in gospel music, because this music inspires. We have
[an] awesome responsibility in the task of telling all the kids, ‘Listen, there’s a better way,’ so I like to see
change,” says Tribbett. “I love that when we perform, people leave changed. They leave inspired to do
things God’s way and I love it. I love the responsibility and I love the change that God has done.”
Alongside his wife of 10 years, Tribett is always busy tending to their 1-year-old baby girl; however, he
managed to find time to complete recordings in Virginia Beach for his third album with G.A., Stand Out,
which is scheduled for an early 2008 release.
The album is sure to be another electric contribution to the swelling genre of youth-driven urban gospel,
Tribbett has proven himself to be a glowing example of the great things that can spring from strong
faith and perseverance.
“My message to the youth has always been that you don’t have to bow,” he says. “You can stand out
and do things the right way. Don’t blend in with the crowd.”
