in Detroit, ERA Bowers & Associates. With almost 40 years of
knowledge and expertise to draw from, it is no wonder that president
and CEO Darralyn Bowers has managed to keep her company in the black in
a rapidly declining market.
“We strive to be the best. We
strive to be cutting edge in terms of expertise and knowledge, and we
feel that gives us a stronger position against our competition. That’s
what’s different about us,” she explains. “I feel that if I can train
salespeople with the philosophies of the company, that sends all those
people out working and creating a positive image in the community. And

In the midst of what she refers to as a huge “oversupply” of property
listings, Bowers views the current market condition as an opportunity
to sell more homes than ever. She says the current environment is a
“buyer’s market,”and cites this as being the opportune time for
homebuyers to get the best value for their money.
Bowers finds that even after becoming a member of the Detroit
Association of Realtors, building a successful book of business, and
making a name for herself, she still finds satisfaction in working
hand-in-hand with buyers and sellers and assisting with the home buying
experience. “Once you’ve taken them through that very emotional
process, moving all the way through [to] the conclusion, you become a
