Meshell Ndegéocello is back with her debut album for Decca and what a return it is! The World Has Made Me the Man of My Dreams is a mélange of funky soul, jazz, electronica, rock and more. Yet, the album is ingeniously smooth and cohesive. Gone are the lyrical references to pocketbooks and “chi-chi pretty eyes” as in the 2002 release Cookie.
