Owner, Little House on Clinton
Like a man showing off his brand-new, tricked-out whip, Kevin Adams’
face lights up like the candles on a birthday cake when he boasts of
the Southern menu at his restaurant, Little House on Clinton.
“Our waffles are homemade with a special recipe. You can’t get this
anywhere,” he excitedly shares. “[We have] some of the best fried
chicken located here in Brooklyn.”
When you enter Little House on Clinton, you feel transported to the
open expanse of South Carolina, which is where Adams’ mother, Easter
Runette Adams, and her delicious recipes originated. “She is the
headliner,” Adams declares.
The olfactory receptors inside your nose are also greeted by
intoxicating aromas that snake out of the kitchen, hug you like you’re
old friends, and beckon you to take a seat and imbibe on chicken and
waffles, ice cream and waffles, all-day breakfast, and, yes, turkey
bacon. But swine lovers get to indulge their palates, as well.
We also do pork,” Adams quickly says, “because some of our people love
pork.”
You have to love that Adams delivers, as well. Furthermore, he also
delivers dreams to kids in the community, so be on the look out for a
menu of social activities from Adams in the Brooklyn area.
“We [should] have these young kids express their talent, because we
really don’t have an avenue for that. Some of the teens don’t even know
each other. And that will be a great forum for them to introduce
themselves,” he says. “And instead of promoting this gang stuff that we
have, promote some of the positive things we have in the community.” –terry shropshire
