Chief Designer, Youngblood Timepieces

By definition, ingenuity is the quality of being cleverly inventive or
resourceful. By example, it could very well mean designer Paul
Youngblood. As the mastermind behind Youngblood Timepiece, the St.
Croix native has stretched the limits of traditional thinking by
creating a breathtaking timepiece. For Youngblood, the need to be
inventive has burned within him for as long as he can remember.

“My whole life, I’ve always been inspired to design things,” he
reveals. “I travel a lot, and happened to be in Hong Kong when the
inspiration hit me to design a watch. I went home to St. Croix to draw
the sketches, and from there just pushed myself to make it a reality.
From meeting with manufacturers in Hong Kong, to teaming up with my
company’s CEO, Patrick Martin, things just fell into place once I set
my mind on making it happen.”

Making it happen may be downplaying the significance of Youngblood’s
accomplishment. His product was so impressive that he earned the
distinction of having the first African American-owned watch brand to
be featured in Macy’s, thanks in large part to their minority vendor
program. According to CEO Patrick Martin, the recognition now enjoyed
by Youngblood Timepieces is well deserved.

“We are very grateful for the opportunity that Macy’s is giving us to
show their customers our great product,” Martin explains. “We have
worked tirelessly, and believe that our product is a cut above the
rest. This is another step forward in our plan to get the world to see
what we’ve believed in for so long.” – dewayne rogers
