This horror-based television series stars Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles as brothers Sam and Dean Winchester, who are bound together by the occult. Sam and Dean hunt for the demon who murdered their mother, and other agents of the supernatural too. This six-DVD set offers an expansive collection of episodes from the innovative show. The subject matter includes vampires, werewolves, angels, a supernatural virus, a shapeshifter, and more. At times, the drama between cast members resembles a daytime soap opera, but the writing keeps things interesting. Padalecki and Ackles are great in their parts and are often funny. The series gets rather profound toward the end, when Dean must make an effort to save his brother. It is loaded with far-reaching ramifications. I –forrest green II
