From the producer’s chair of John Singleton comes a film that
purportedly gives Latinos some much-needed representation in cinema.
Indeed, the cast has many Latin faces in it, but whether diversity
should excuse a motion picture from being horrid is a pretty heavy
question. The story line: when a bunch of thugs who killed a young
man’s father come looking for him, Wilson DeLeon Jr. (Manny Perez) and
his mother are forced to take action against the b@&@#$*s. Wilson
Jr. and his mom are ready to deliver blazing vengeance. Does this sound
like a melodramatic synopsis of a Singleton-directed movie? It should,
because he has made almost his entire reputation delivering such dreck.
