Lennon to gain notoriety. It can be been argued that this drama gives
Chapman what he wanted. Some argue that it was Lennon’s thirst for fame
that ultimately got him killed. These viewpoints and others, are posed
in Andrew Piddington’s ambitious film. This is a well researched, well
made piece of work. The reproduction of the months before and after
Lennon’s murder are accomplished. Jonas Ball gives a nigh flawless
performance as the disturbed Chapman. But the film’s length detracts
from its power. The profoundly nagging question: what’s the value of
