Maybe you saw the first trailer for this flick before last year’s theatrical release of Transformers. It featured a huge explosion in New York City and the head of the Statue of Liberty hurdling down an avenue. Needless to say, moviegoers were excited and even intrigued, as the action-packed trailer was untitled. About six months later, details about Cloverfield are still being kept hush-hush. What’s known about the film is that a party is disturbed when a monster attacks the city. The beast’s assault is relayed to viewers through a handful of people. It’s also known that the movie contains disturbing images, so it’s likely that the film’s director, Matt Reeves, means to take us somewhere unusual and challenging. Here’s to physically big surprises!
