The much-anticipated rock album from Lil Wayne finally has an official name—Rebirth.
Although rumors had circulated that the album would be re-released as the Carter III, the album, due out on April 7, has earned a title of its own.
The first single, “Prom Queen” features Weezie exposing his vulnerable side about a woman, using synthesized vocals.
“This is something brand new, so we don’t want it to be some experimental thing, ’cause some people are not gonna like this,” he told MTV late last year. “[It’s] the birth of a new beginning.”
In other Weezie news, the rapper, who is up for a whopping eight Grammy Awards this year for his Carter III album, is also a hit at the Sundance Film Festival. Director Adam Bhala Lough is currently showing his documentary, The Carter, at the festival to solid reviews. Bhala Lough followed Wayne from March 2008 to November 2008.
