PHOENIX – Despite a recession of historic proportions, the 2009 NBA All-Star Weekend still managed to draw major crowds to its host city. rolling out Sports hit one of the first mega-events of the weekend, the 944 Magazine All-Star Weekend party at the W Hotel in neighboring Scottsdale, Ariz.The star-studded event brought celebrities of all genres and made this the hottest party of the night. Rapper T.I rolled through with his grand entourage. Hip hop artist Akon also made an appearance. Delonte West, a guard for one of the NBA’s elite teams, the Cleveland Cavaliers, stopped to talk with ro sports about what All-Star weekend is all about. West says “For me, [NBA] All-Star [Weekend] is all about the support. Lebron [James] is leading the charge, and Mo Williams got his first vote to the All- Star game.”The VIP list also included actor/comedian Cedric the Entertainer, actor Laz Alonso, San Francisco 49ers’ Vernon Davis, Dallas Cowboys’ Terrell Owens, DJ Jazze Jeff and many others.
