Rapper Lupe Fiasco took New York City teens on a sonic journey recently as part of the Coca-Cola “Refresh Your Flow Tour. The six-city tour, which also brought Fiasco and newcomer Karina Pasian to cities such as L.A., Chicago, Atlanta, Philadelphia and Washington, D.C., made its final stop in the Big Apple at the Fillmore at Irving Plaza.
Before kicking things off, both artists held a meet-n-greet with select fans of the Boys & Girls Club, where they signed autographs and posed for photos. Next the 17-year-old Pasian took to the stage, winning over fans with tracks from her debut album, “First Love.” With the crowd warmed up, Fiasco kept things going with his energetic once he hit the stage, performing hit songs such as “Kick Push,” “Superstar” and “Paris Tokyo.”
The free concert was an invitation-only affair, with tickets distributed exclusively through New York radio station HOT 97, select retailers, Coca-Cola street teams and the Boys & Girls Clubs. – ivory m. jones
