Not to be confused with the Tom
Berenger/Treat Williams series, this highly enjoyable Danish import
pits a substitute teacher (who just happens to be an alien) against a
bunch of scrappy school kids. It seems that studying our ability to
love may help an alien race stop killing each other. It isn’t
long before the students notice something is not right with their new
teacher. She can read minds and is very blunt about their shortcomings.
Well-paced and fun to watch, The Substitute is one of the best movies released by Ghost House Underground. –dark abyss
