Senior Beauty Advisor, Walgreens
With
more than a decade of experience at Walgreens, Sabrina Henderson,
senior beauty adviser, serves as a beauty advocate and personal
shopper.
Customers in the mood for a makeover can consult with
Henderson, who’s trained to offer solutions to meet their needs. “I get
a lot of customers who come in and want to know what’s new . the ones
that tend to watch ‘Oprah’ or ‘The View.’ They will come in looking for
the product that was advertised on TV . the new mascaras [and] the
number one request is a skin care system,” Henderson shares.
When it comes to recommending skin and hair care products, Henderson
says she will stand behind a good product and is honest about products
she doesn’t endorse. “I try to use a little bit of it all. [Vendors]
give us things to try like skin care cleansers for your face. If I am
OK with it, I will push it. If I have a problem with the product, I
will let customers know.”
Henderson states that vendors offer samples for customers. For example,
Organic Root Stimulator is promoting their Olive Oil line and has
samples available at checkout. Another promotion in effect is when a
customer purchases a can of African Pride Miracle Sheen Oil Sheen, she
is eligible for a $3 off coupon or a free African Pride Relaxer.
Henderson smiles, “Samples are very good; people can try the products.
It goes over well with customers because they like everything that’s
