Six
months since the release of his sophomore album The Definition of Real,
Ft. Myers, FL goon Plies delivers a one-two jab combination with his
third album in two years, Da Realist. And with the raunchy lead single
“Put It On Ya,” thug life testimonies “Me and My
Goons” and usual dope boy blues of “Family Straight”
and “Gotta Be,” Plies is sure to please hardcore fans. But
attempts at mainstream attention with sticky sweet “Want It, Need
It” featuring Ashanti just may be in vain as the rest of the
album may be too rough and rugged to win over the ‘burbs.
