The 5th Annual Bahamas International Film Festival Hails the Career Achievements of Laurence Fishburne
With a luminous career spanning an impressive 30 years, celebrated actor Laurence Fishburne received a much-deserved day in the sun when he received a Career Achievement Award during the fifth annual Bahamas International Film Festival. The ceremony, which took place at the breath-taking Atlantis Resort, which is carefully nestled on Paradise Island (one of 70 Bahamian islands), proved to be the perfect setting to receive such a lofty accolade. Grateful for the honor and perhaps even more appreciative to be receiving it in such a gorgeous island setting, Fishburne was overwhelmed by the moment. “If I don’t say much, you’ll have to excuse me, as this is all so emotional for me,” he shared.

As the ceremony attendees fanned out into the warm Bahamian evening, Fishburne stood around and soaked in the adulation of those who wished to share a personal congratulatory moment with the star. With his wife, Gina Torres, by his side, this was an evening that Fishburne won’t soon forget.
