At
a time when pop and R&B charts are chock-full of mindless
misconceptions of bottle popping, club hopping and irresponsible sex
aided by overused auto tunes, modern day southern soul singer Anthony
Hamilton just may be the last of a dying breed in American music.
Breathing much-needed depth into his newest testimony, The Point of It All,
his scratchy baritone soothes the soul on the blaxploitation-styled
“The News,” atop earthy, piano riffs of “The Day We
Met” and on the mellow moods of lead single “Cool.”
Once again, Mr. Hamilton offers the best of today and yesterday.-cw
